The idea of writing FAR FROM HOME – Confessions of a Foreign Student was conceived from the view to the fact that so little is known about foreign students – that is their lives, hopes, worries, fears, experiences, guilty pleasures, mistakes and lessons learnt.
Having lived and studied in India as a foreign student for three years, hence being a by-product of India’s higher educational system I must admit that India, arguably as one of the premier international educational destination in the world, notably boosts of quality, diversified and highly admirable competitive educational system. And it’s on this basis that hundred and thousands of students flock in this country annually from different parts of the world to come and partake of India’s premier educational diversity and relevance in a contemporary world.
My ultimate hope is that this novel will essentially serve as a guiding parameter and indeed as enlightenment to all the parents and guardians who already have children studying in India or those who are planning to send their children to study in India. I am also hoping that this novel will absolutely be a counseling spectrum and a building block to all foreign students in terms of achieving their various academic goals and objectives. Accordingly, in relation to my experience as a foreign student I have also been in a good enough position to include my views and opinions whenever necessary in the course of this novel.
